A Little Bit About Me!
Thanks for popping by! My entire working life I have been a professional photographer & today enjoying the creative experience more than ever. My journey began with assisting at a local portrait studio in Portsmouth at the age of just 14. Over the years I have gained the highest professional qualifications and awards including being named UK Wedding Photographer of the Year three times.
I became a Fellow of the British Institute Of Professional Photography & The Master Photographers Association when I was just 29 years old. I won the Millennium Portrait Photographer Of The Year along with ten Kodak Gold awards for portrait excellence. I owned busy studios in Portsmouth and Fareham for 25 years & employed up to three photographers & studio staff. It was a fair sized business handling around 120 weddings & 200 portrait sessions a year.
We had our own dark rooms and framing in house. Nowadays it’s just me & my photography (just the way I like it) working out of a little gallery/ creative studio in my garden. For me now it’s all about making people happy & creating images that excite me too as a photographer; I do not follow trends!!
I only accept 20 weddings maximum and a similar number of portrait sessions per year.

Wedding Photography is the most challenging of any photographic genre. I have been privileged to study with the best teachers worldwide before gaining Master status myself over thirty years ago. Cameras, iPhones will always record when pointed & the button is pressed; they are fool proof! However they have nothing to do with the content of the finished result. In the same way if you gave me the best hammer & saw I couldn’t build you a kitchen? Today I see far too many “have a go weekenders” trying to make extra money with their hobbies. Please be careful as these people are not trained in people skills, lighting, composition & will simply “snap away” You will not be happy & this is one of the most expensive mistakes you’re ever likely to make. On your wedding day you & your loved ones will look their best. How often will you all be together? This is the one time you need to get it right. Even if you do not choose me, find out what I do and compare, but please do not book a wedding photographer on price alone. It’s the value that is important and the images created will last a life time. If done well they become I would say “priceless” …
Fine Art Approach: I have studied with some of the Worlds leading Masters in photographic art. I have taken elements from them all & developed my own style. Taking inspiration from painting, fashion & music.I look to achieve a mix of soulful & beautiful & humorous moments.
Documentary Style: I have never aligned with that phrase. Your wedding is not a war zone needing a Fleet Street approach? A true wedding photographer should take the upmost care in the candid natural moments too. Great lighting, a strong composition & that spontaneous moment are paramount to me

Family Photography
Family is at the heart of everything I do. In a blink of an eye our children have grown up & left home. Allow me the privilege to capture this precious time you share together. My own family portraits are some of my most heartfelt & valuable possessions I have. If there was a choice of a Rolex or my family portrait I would never see again …. I know what I would choose.
Bespoke Design: I treat all of my commissions as unique. I just want to make you & your children happy . Many of the first time clients I meet say “oh I don’t photograph well or compare to an old studio or job photograph from the past. My approach is nothing like that. I will relax you from the get go & we will have a lot of fun!
